JPOD (the beat chef) is a passionate and talented beat machine known for his unique flavor: nu-funk, hip-hop, dancehall, world fusion and breaks, all live-mashed together with samples and acapellas. Jason performs using Ableton Live and encompasses live remixing, effects, and beat creation in his sets striving to do something a little different to keep listeners on their toes.

He recently started a new digital label / tool shop called Swing Set Sounds and his first EP “Sock Rockers” is out now! The Swing Set project is based on the belief that the future of DJing is edits, remixes, and live remixing and that the necessary tools should be more readily available. Like any passion, JPOD’s style continues to evolve. His next goal is to mix software by combining the precise vinyl emulation of Serato with the live remixing flexibility of Ableton.

Freddy J’s mixture of funky, crunky, dirty, and whomp offers the best in bassline-driven Electro Funk. He will have your ass shaking all night and is considered one of Western Canada’s “must see” DJs. His House & Breaks sets are sprinkled with original tracks and his own re-edits of floor bangers everyone loves. Alex has been at the DJ / Producer game since 2001 and enjoys success at every corner.

His Shambhala Fractal Forest 2010 mix has been received with rave reviews and has been downloaded several thousand times. The studio-mastered mix recreates the party experience from his set in 2010. Manousos

Manousos’ interest in Punk and early Electronic Dance Music began while living in Greece during his teen years where he DJed at sunny poolside patios in the tourist district of Athens. Since then he have been attending shows and DJing in Athens, Montreal, Toronto, and western Canada always looking for new and inspiring sounds. In 2002, he and his wife JGirl co-founded a club night called “Dizzy,” a collaborative effort by 5 DJs / promoters bringing together the sounds of Chicago-style House & Detroit Techno in a licensed dance studio with a hip & relaxed crowd dancing on Montreal-style hard-wood floors week after week. They booked and played alongside acts like East Coast Boogiemen, Jason Hodges, Akufen, Fred Everything, Hector Morales, and many others.

His current project Footwerk Events takes place at Oasis & Gotchas nightclubs. Footwerkers enjoy free-spirited vibes with the right balance of local and out-of town acts focusing on music, dance, & media art with guests like Colette & DJ Heather, Malente, Hook N Sling, Aphrodite, Nom De Strip (of Stupid Fresh), Robb G, Timothy Wisdom, Stickybuds, Luscious Beats, Fresh Baked DJs, & many others.
